Top 10 Favorite Games
These are the top 10 games that I shamelessly and passionately love, and are also the games I recommend everyone to play at least once!

1) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Possibly the best game ever created. It’s Zelda at it’s absolute best and created such an amazing gameplay experience that gamers couldn’t stop salivating for more. Everything, from the storyline to the characters to the music and to the enemies, was completely memorable. Could a game be perfect? Probably not, but this comes damn close.

2) Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
And you thought most Mario games were predictable! One of the best RPGs of all time, I would say, and put the Mario world and characters into a very unique. (I love clumsy, vulnerable Bowser) It was challenging and fun, and had so many little extras that you could play for hours. Plus, the storyline was excellent.

3) Chrono Trigger
Talk about a game that keeps on giving! The time manipulation was very well-done and all the characters made up an amazing team. (Not to mention the music made up an amazing score) When you finally reach the end, you think you’re done, but then a whole new world of possibilities opens up with the idea of finding all the various endings. A classic!

4) Harvest Moon 64
I am a HUGE sucker for the Harvest Moon series. It seems really mundane and lame, but is so addictive and there are so many different aspects in it. You really make the world your own and I think out of the whole series, this one was the best designed. Not too complicated, but still incredibly enjoyable and challenging. (Plus, the animals were so cute!)

5) Final Fantasy VI
Talk about a killer cast! Character collecting was definitely a fun aspect of the game, but the stories that each character wove was what made the game so wonderful. It was very easy to be sucked into this world and all of the emotion and adventure it contained. (Not to mention it had a very beautiful musical score) The world was huge and endless, just like the adventure, and each time you played it, you created a whole new tale because not everything had to be done in order. Beautifully made RPG.

6) Super Mario 64
This game basically defined the games of its generation. The world itself was so enormously HUGE and the possibilities of different paths were always endless. The levels were vast, challenging, and innovative, and there were so many secrets scattered throughout the castle. You can never be done playing this game because there is always something new to explore.

7) Pokemon Red
And by Red, I mean Blue as well. The Pokemon phenomenon is really an amazing one, and after playing the original, it’s easy to see how people got hooked. They may make a million Pokemon games in the future, but the original will always be the best because it shows the foundations of this insane craze and the fundamentals are what make this game awesome. I’m convinced I will never be able to “catch ‘em all.”

8) Final Fantasy IX
What I don’t understand is why more people aren’t in love with this game! (I feel the release of the PS2 and FFX horribly overshadowed this gem) It had pretty beautiful graphics for a PSOne game, and the storyline was very moving and well thought out. Alright, so the characters were kind of cutesy, but the material of the game definitely was not. It went back to the traditional aspects of the series (which I thought was great) and also had an amazing batch of sidequests as well. I think this game needs to be appreciated much more.

9) Kingdom Hearts II
So I like Final Fantasy and I like Disney … and while it seemed like a silly idea at first, the two entities actually meshed pretty harmoniously. Sure, there were times when it was so gushy and wholesome and cute that you wanted to strangle Sora or Kairi (or the god awful mermaids), but the whole adventure was pretty wonderfully made and though it was a long game, it never got boring. (Well, except for the beginning … but that was a small part) The graphics were also very, very beautiful and I was glued to it the whole time. I also enjoyed the battle system more than the traditional, turn-based RPG system.

10) Guitar Hero III
Yes, I do love Guitar Hero and I feel like the latest installment really does the series the most justice. The songs are fantastic and the difficulty level is just high enough to give people one hell of a challenge. (I still have trouble beating the last set …) It’s so freaking addicting and once you become really good at it, you just want to play all the time. Plus, you start really loving the songs after a few plays and everyone thinks you’re a Rock God. Pretty spiffy title to have, if you ask me. If you say you don’t like this game, I think you’re a LIAR.
